What is Content Audit And How it Works

A content audit is a detailed review of all the content on your website to understand what is performing well, what needs improvement, and what should be removed or updated. The goal is to make your site more effective, organized, and aligned with your audience’s needs. A content audit usually begins by creating a list of every page or blog post on your site. This list includes titles, URLs, publication dates, categories, keywords used, and performance data such as page views, bounce rate, time on page, and backlinks. Tools like Google Analytics and Google Search Console help you gather this information. Once everything is documented, each piece of content is evaluated. You check whether it is still relevant, accurate, well-written, and useful for your audience. You also look for outdated information, broken links, slow-loading pages, or posts that no longer match your current goals. Based on this evaluation, each item is placed into categories such as: keep as is, update/...
