1.Eligibility Requirements
Facebook (Meta) has specific criteria you must meet before you can monetize. Common reasons for trouble:
- Not meeting follower or view thresholds.
For example, Meta often requires at least 5,000 followers or 600,000 minutes viewed in the past 60 days - Location restrictions.
Reels monetization isn’t available in every country.
You must be 18+ and have a professional mode profile or page enabled.
Policy or Content Violations
Meta is strict about content. Even small mistakes can disqualify you from monetization:
Copyright issues — using unlicensed music, videos, or clips.
Community guideline violations — e.g., nudity, violence, misinformation, etc.
if your Reels are reposted from TikTok or YouTube without original value, Meta often demonetizes them.
Misleading engagement — buying likes, comments, or followers.
3. Monetization Feature Issues
Even if you’re eligible, technical issues can block income:
“In-stream ads” or “Stars” not activated properly.
Banking or payout setup errors. Missing tax info or wrong payment method can pause payouts.
Delayed reviews. Sometimes Meta takes weeks to review accounts or content for eligibility.
